The Receiving Clerk will perform a variety of receiving related duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with purchasing, facilities, accounts payable, accounting staff and management and observes confidentiality of receipts and other matters for the organization. This is a TEMPORARY position with potential for permanant hire, working 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilizes computerized receiving / accounting software programs (Great Plains, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities
  • Generates receipts and reports
  • Researches receipts, loss and damaged goods
  • Reconciles facility receipts to outstanding PO report
  • Oversees receiving adjustments and vendor returns
  • Basic math and spreadsheet experience
  • Operates office equipment including personal computer, copiers, fax machines and 10-key calculator
  • Organizes tasks efficiently, free from errors, and maintains up to date records
  • Provides monthly receiving related management reports
  • Maintains telephone and personal contact with purchasing, accounting staff and management as directed by manager
  • Reads, uses and is familiar with computer systems manuals and procedures, maintains and updates procedural manuals as needed
  • Assists in analysis, as requested
  • Organizes and maintains scanned retention files for required period of time
  • Other projects / duties as assigned

Qualifications:

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALITIES:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, college level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years hands-on receiving experience
  • Basic computer skills and word processing
  • Good mathematical background
  • Some experience with spreadsheets and automated accounting systems
  • Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently
  • Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proof reading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic
  • Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment
  • Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work consistent hours
  • Ability to use communicate with facility as well as headquarters personnel
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced ever-changing work environment
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction
WORK CONDITIONS
  • The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, reading reports, and viewing a computer terminal
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
