Primary Function:


Receiving Manager oversees the safe receipt, storage, and timely transfer of goods. Ensures workplace health and safety and Food Safety requirements are met and takes responsibility for the security of the building and stock. Receiving Assistant Manager plans and organizes the day to day receiving of Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers and or other produce within the warehouse. They ensure productivity targets are met and maintain computerized administration of inventory. They manage teams of workers and deal with personnel issues such as the training and discipline of staff.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Plans and administers work for staff; includes day-to-day supervision of staff, and overseeing work organized by team leaders
• Monitors status of incoming orders with Logistics
• Ensures changes are made with production schedules
• Administers quality inspection of all incoming product
• Manage teams to receive and inspect product, both transfers and purchases
• Ensures Receiving, Shipping & Production work together to fill orders in a timely fashion
• Ensuring quality, delivery and budget objectives are met
• Responding to and dealing with commodity managers (sales)
• Keeps stock control systems up-to-date
• Communicating with other departments, staff groups and customers; notifies Warehouse and Commodity Managers of quality issues on inbound or outbound product
• Overseeing inventory control and processing orders
• Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personnel information.
• Monitors status of incoming orders with other managers
• Makes sure all skids going/leaving racks are stacked properly
• Ensures product is slotted/shipped correctly
• Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
• Follow Commodity Specialist allocations and change orders as needed
• Understands the process of the Famous computer system
• Motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met
• Training staff and monitoring their performance and progress
• Ensuring the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment
• Oversees the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
• Tracks trailers in yard
• Conduct other duties as assigned

• Previous Managerial Experience
• Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present information and direction, and field questions from managers, employees and external contacts
• Willingness to work with a high degree of professionalism and personal integrity
• Strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws and requirements to maintain compliance to all relevant statues and guiding principles (FDA, USDA, MIOSHA, OSHA, CFIA)
• High School Diploma or GED
