Performs a variety of office support in the areas of administration and secretarial duties for the dental department.

(Consideration may be given for equivalent knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
One year dental office experience greeting and assisting patients, collecting patient demographic and insurance information preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Able to operate multi-line phone system, and type 40 wpm.
Ability to handle large volumes of highly detailed work.
Able to work tactfully and effectively with patients, public and clinic staff.


1. Completes administrative support duties:
Completes a variety of computer based tasks related to documentation in appropriate format. Examples include but are not limited to: Typing correspondence, memos and reports; completing applications; registration and insurance billing; filing.
Obtains and documents all necessary information required to provide services needed.
Orders and maintains office supplies, maintenance services and any other items necessary for operation of the department.
Accounts Receivables: Receives co-payments and documents in the computer. Also takes care of the insurance payments, makes the deposit slip and deposits to the bank.
Prepares reports for the daily, weekly, and monthly reports for accounting.
Referrals to other dental providers are provided per request of the doctor or the aide of the hygienist. Necessary copies are made and sent out at a timely manner.
Assists whenever needed including but not to limited: making photocopies of accounts payables and phone calls.
2. Communicates effectively with other dental providers and patients.
Provides verbal and written instructions in a clear and concise manner to ensure that instructions are understood.
Makes courtesy reminder calls to the patient the day before the appointment.
Makes sure that patients have the information needed for their next appointment or for the referrals.
Adhere to KIT policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned.
