Al Jazeera America is looking for a Receptionist/Accounting Clerk for our San Francisco office. This position will report to our VP Finance. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, upbeat, excited about Al Jazeera America, and a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Accuracy, organizational skills, friendliness, maintaining a positive attitude, and being a self-starter are absolute musts for this position.

Key responsibilities include: Answering phones and routing calls to appropriate recipient Greeting visitors Code all invoices to proper general ledger accounts and enter into accounting system. Review vendor statements and request copies of missing invoices. Request W9 forms from vendors. Work with payroll to manage expense reimbursements Maintain good working relationship with vendors and internal customers.

Ensuring the break room is stocked all times - ordering " maintaining adequate levels of snack food and supplies Maintaining cleanliness of the break room, including but not limited to: Wiping down counters, disposing of (or storing) left over food, and disposing of empty beverage " food containers. Maintaining Conference Room calendars. Assisting with the overnight shipping process Promptly and accurately deliver incoming faxes via e-mail Maintain the highest levels of customer care while demonstrating a friendly and cooperative attitude Consistently adhere to Al Jazeera ’s Mission and Values Perform other administrative tasks as assigned Direct billing of all approved travel arrangements Review and enter highly detailed invoices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Requirements: 0 – 1 year experience working in a professional environment or in the hospitality industry Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, IE) Multi-tasker who handles responsibilities with calm and success Focused go-getter Concerned about outcomes and eager to contribute and learn Participates enthusiastically Strong work ethic and a positive, get-it-done attitude High school diploma or general education degree required
