Stationed at the building lobby, this position is responsible for greeting, accommodating and directing visitors and guests, answering, screening and directing incoming calls from the main switchboard, and working on administrative projects, tasks and overflow work in a courteous, professional and efficient manner.
The primary responsibility of this position is to create and maintain a professional image of the company by providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service to visitors, guests, employees and telephone callers. During business hours, the reception station must be staffed 100% of the time and all scheduling conflicts must be immediately reported to management. The receptionist is responsible for ensuring that all incoming phone calls are answered within three rings.
This position also serves an important security function by monitoring lobby traffic and reporting suspicious activity to management and security. This individual is responsible for verifying proper admission to the building and issuing of access badges.
The secondary responsibility of this position is to provide administrative support for various tasks, projects and department overflow work. The primary position duties referenced above should take precedence over administrative support tasks.
This position deals with a diverse group of callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Will be exposed to company proprietary and strategic information that must not be divulged. This is a non-exempt position and the general work shift is an eight-hour day between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional over-time.
High school diploma. One or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a large organization preferred.
