Urban Family Center Start Date: As soon as possible

Hours: Full time

Salary: Commensurate with experience

  • High school diploma or GED with six (6) years office experience or Business School Certificate with at least four (4) years office experience required
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently
  • Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must have excellent writing, proofreading and typing skills (40-45 wpm)
  • Must have good judgment and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to handle confidential information and documents
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Answer all incoming calls
  • Prepare monthly calendars
  • Greet and assist residents and visitors appropriately
  • General office functions such as typing, filing copying, faxing, answering telephone and taking accurate messages
  • Manage, monitor and update client grants and loan cards
  • Interact with Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and Human Resources Administration (HRA) regarding intakes and new admissions
  • Update staff telephone listing and fire procedure as needed
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
