Provides receptionist services for the Emergency Department which includes emergency room and outpatient treatment area. Receives, greets and directs patients, visitors and hospital personnel in a courteous manner. Interviews the patient/guardian to accurately obtain and appropriately record the information necessary to complete the admitting process in a courteous and efficient manner. Organizes clerical and support activities on unit communicating messages accurately and timely. Transfers calls, relays messages. Transcribes orders accurately and timely maintaining an efficient work environment. Schedules outpatient procedures. Assists nurses, PAs and physicians with patient care and transfers within the hospital and to other facilities. Maintains clean and neat patient environment, sanitizing patient care areas between patients. Ordering and restocking supplies. Assures completion of medical record, assembles, copies and distributes medical record to appropriate departments. Must be able to multitask.
Hours per Period :
48 – 56 hours per two-week period
7:00 am – 3:30 pm & 3:30 pm – Midnight

Minimum Certification/Licenses Requirements :
High school graduate or GED equivalent required CPR course required. Broad background or training in medical office procedures and standards. Medical Terminology preferred.
Preferred Experience :
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Strong computer software knowledge. Nurse Aide experience preferred.
The successful candidate will have to pass competencies for this position.
