Kingwood Pines Hospital a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services. Kingwood Pines Hospital currently has a PRN PReceptionist position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

Purpose: To facilitate the flow of organizational information; to provide a positive, responsive environment for receiving internal and external customers via telephone and face-to-face interaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Greets clients, family members, medical staff, allied professional staff and visitors to the facility in a clear, friendly and professional manner. Routes telephone and in-person messages accurately, completely, and promptly.

2. Answers the telephone promptly in a clear, friendly and professional manner. Directs calls to the appropriate staff member.

3. Calls codes over the facility intercom clearly and correctly.

4. Provides identification badges to any non-staff person who leaves the lobby area.

5. Performs clerical support duties for various departments as assigned by the Administrative CEO Assistant. Those duties include – but are not limited to – typing, copying, data input, sorting, filing, collating, collateral materials, email lists, update phone lists monthly, Mail-Outs as directed, referral development reports as needed.

6. Receives incoming mail and coordinates pickup of outgoing courier mail.

7. Participates in training and development activities as assigned, which includes Customer Service Training.

8. Complies with facility safety, infection control and security procedures.

9. Performs other duties as required and typing as requested through Supervisor.

All hospital staff, medical staff, allied professional staff, external information requestors and patients and their families.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school level reading, writing and arithmetic skills; skills in business English usage; excellent telephone etiquette and tact; pleasant and audible speech, with good enunciation. Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Desktop Publishing with the ability to operate office equipment, i.e., copier, calculator and computer typing a minimum of 40+ wpm. Ability to operate telephone console; ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound. Ability to interact effectively with persons of widely diverse backgrounds, cultures, roles and socio-economic classes; ability to interact effectively with persons in crises or resistant or negative toward organization; ability to remain seated at reception desk for long periods of time without significant discomfort or distress.

EDUCATION :

High School diploma or equivalent

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Current Driver's License
  • Current CPI Certification
EXPERIENCE : Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a position requiring contact with the public. Computer and word processing experience. Experience operating a telephone console with multiple lines preferred. Experience in the hospital setting preferred.
