This position reports to the Administrative Manager and is a member of the Administration Department. The primary purpose of your job is to provide assistance to residents, visitors and staff at our front desk. You are the “Director of First Impressions” for our company, staff and building.
High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
College or secretarial trade school helpful.
Two years’ prior receptionist and/or clerical experience desired.
Training and/or experience in communications, hospitality, using computers and internet helpful but not mandatory.
A pleasant speaking voice, proper business etiquette and a willingness to help others is desired.
Prior experience in working with older adults is preferred.

Develops and maintains positive relationships with staff, residents and residents’ families.
Supports the Service Excellence attitude of MorningSide of College Park and serves as a resource to the community for positive senior housing and assisted living alternatives.
Assists the Administrative Manager and other members of the management team in providing basic office support as assigned by your supervisor.
Develops and maintains a good working rapport with all departments within the community to assure that administrative services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of quality operations.
Interprets the community’s policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members or visitors as directed by the Executive Director.
Assists in maintaining a good public relations program that serves the best interest of the community.
Assists the Administrative Manager in maintaining an adequate filing system.
Releases information in accordance with established policies and procedures and with permission of the Executive Director and/or Administrative Manager.
Makes written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrative Manager concerning administrative procedures.
Assures that the office is maintained in a clean and safe manner and that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform required duties.
Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports and submit to the appropriate manager as directed.
Assists in administrative studies and projects as assigned or as necessary.
Schedules appointments, process mail, answer phones, etc.
Responds to inquiries in a courteous manner. Refer to appropriate staff personnel as required.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by the Administrative Manager.
Demonstrates accuracy in the areas of typing, message documentation and math calculation. Keeps area around and on desk neat and orderly at all times.
Works with Administrative Manager to resolve problems and complaints.
Assists with the orientation and personnel processing of new employees.
Assists with telephone inquiries and tours as needed.
Interacts with the Marketing department to complete necessary forms for new resident processing.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of mechanical devises):
Must have sufficient hearing and visual abilities to comprehend written or verbal communication.
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the residents, resident’s family members and co-workers.
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this community.
May be required to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Must be able to lift fifteen to twenty pounds using proper body mechanics.
