Greet vendors, customers, job applicants and other visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Under general supervision operates multiple line telephone and/or switchboard console and routes calls to the appropriate person.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets vendors, customers, job applicants and visitors, determines nature of business, and notifies appropriate staff member.
Ensures that office security measures for visitors are followed including sign-in log and visitor’s badges and those visitors are escorted while on the premises.
Answers incoming phone calls, secures necessary information and transfers calls to appropriate parties; when appropriate, answers basic questions and provides information to callers, such as office address, directions or other information.
Takes and relays telephone messages as necessary. May operate public address system to page employees to the telephone.
Coordinates incoming and outgoing mail; signs for mail deliveries and notifies recipients.
Performs a variety of routine clerical duties specific to the needs of the location.
Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

High school diploma or GED and three (3) months of customer service/clerical experience with receptionist experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
