This position will perform a variety of receptionist office clerical and related duties both within and in support of Southcoast Primary Care and Southcoast Physician Services. Some duties and responsibilities include booking tests and scheduling appointments with specialists as requested by physician, call prescriptions in to requested pharmacies, answer/screen telephone calls, take and relay messages, receive/sort/distribute office mail, confirm and print daily appointments, perform a variety of billing and bookkeeping functions, handle and resolve routine questions, and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Education equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training. Knowledge of medical terminology and over 2 years up to 3 years experience is required. Previous Medical Receptionist and computer experience or background in general office work is preferred, as well as previous customer service work.
