Stack Exchange is hiring a receptionist to join our front office team. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to manage the front desk and greet visitors to the office upon arrival. This individual will be integral in ensuring daily operations of our New York HQ run smoothly.

What you’ll do:
  • Greet visitors at the front desk & log them in
  • Ensure in-office events run smooth and assist with event planning
  • Assist with organizing Summer/Holiday parties and after hours events
  • Answer phones, transfer calls, & act as “gatekeeper” for unsolicited calls
  • Handle inbound and outbound office shipments
  • Coordinate with finance team regarding checks/bills received
  • Act as point of contact for internal employees and subletters regarding facility issues
  • Handle incoming purchase request from internal & remote employees.
  • Purchase items and follow up with employees regarding receipts
  • Put together and ship new hire swag packages
What you should have:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Gmail and working with Google Calendars
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Tech savvy; enthusiasm for Stack Exchange and the tech startup landscape
  • Smart & Gets Things Done mentality
