The Business Engagement Center was established at the University of Michigan to strengthen the University's ties to business and community partners and to help revitalize and diversify the state of Michigan's economy.

The Office of Technology Transfer is the University organization responsible for the transfer of University technology to the marketplace. Our organization provides responsive, professional service to our inventors and industry partners.

The Business Engagement Center and the Office of Technology Transfer are looking for an individual to provide professional reception and administrative support including: Provide primary phone coverage and reception services for the following three units: Business Engagement Center, the Office of Technology Transfer, and the U-M Venture Center Accelerator; Provide general support to administrative and a large group of professional staff; Maintain inventory and order office, coffee, and kitchen supplies for all units; Process online purchasing and coordinate deliveries and restocking for all units; Manage daily guest parking arrangements and staff business vehicle parking scheduling; Maintain office equipment machines, including copy, fax, coffee; Manage outgoing and incoming mail distribution for all units including large quantity of patent mail; Coordinate scheduling of multiple conference rooms and other calendars as needed; Organize meetings, provide beverage and catering arrangements; plan and conduct miscellaneous events; Coordinate travel, expenses, calendar for select BEC staff; Maintain BEC contact database and files; Handle other special projects as assigned. Required Qualifications*
Requires a high school education or equivalent and 2 or more years office experience. Service-oriented attitude, professional demeanor, flexibility and the ability to work both independently and as a team member. Ability to learn quickly and work accurately, with strong attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills. Desired Qualifications*
Reliable, responsive and prepared to take initiative. Attention to detail and dependability are essential. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment . Excellent attendance. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work and get along with all levels of faculty, staff, students and visitors. Proficient in both Macintosh and PC computer platforms including strong computer skills in database, word processing, excel spreadsheets, and e-mail. Bachelor's degree preferred. Knowledge of U-M policies and procedures.
