Accountant II Reconciliation Accountant
Performs moderately complex accounting procedures, including review of agency facility financial statements, records, documents and reports. Reviews financial activities and recommends any appropriate adjustments or procedures changes. Specializes in areas of property and cash controls. works under general supervision of Director of Accounting with moderate latitude for use od initiative and independent judgement.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform cash count and reconciliations Observe and report on inventory counts.
Audit payroll distribution process. Review financial transactions and records.
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Other accounting duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Graduation from college with major subject area in accounting or equivalent accounting work experience. Two or more years experience in accounting or auditing, including inventory and accounts reconciliation experience.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Knowledge of computer program operation including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of State Government Financial system and procedures.
Skill in accounting and financial analysis.
Skill in operation of automated financial and accounting systems.
Accurate in dealing with financial information and numerical calculations.
Ability to deal witha high volume of information in a timely manner.
Ability to apply good business practices in evaluating accounting data
Ability to effectively manage projects.
Able to develope effective action plans considering assignment parameters and goals and available resources.
Able to apply proactive approach to problem solving.
Registration or Licensure Requirements:
Initial Selection Criteria:
Formal educaiton in accounting.
Four years work Experience in accounting.
Experience with computer operations.
A skill test and task demonstration will be given.
