Under general supervision of a Recreation Supervisor, or Division Administrator, assists in and performs planning, coordination and supervision of comprehensive recreation programs, events and activities for a Recreation Center; recruits, coordinates and supervises regular, temporary and volunteer staff; and performs related work as required. Supervises full time and part time staff.
Work location is Cesar Chavez South Park Recreation Center.

Provides quality customer service.
Supervises recreation staff, including determining workloads and schedules, effectively evaluating staff and making hiring and disciplinary recommendations.
Plans, organizes, conducts and coordinates a wide variety of recreational and community service programs.
Prepares a variety of reports and other documents such as operating, activity and statistical reports, promotional materials and other forms of documentation.
Maintains contacts with neighborhood groups, schools, businesses, law enforcement agencies, volunteer and other community groups and provides necessary coordination of services.
Ensures that procedures and rules are followed at the assigned Recreation Center.
Employee supervision, including work planning, assignments, evaluation and staff development.

Two years of experience in recreation programs or activities.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in recreation administration, physical education, leisure services or a related field and two years full-time or its equivalent of recreation experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
