Note: Temporary non-benefited casual/seasonal workers are limited to working no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
The City of Sunnyvale is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified individuals to instruct a group fitness class for adults 50 years and older. Class focus is on cardio, strength, core, balance, and flexibility. Instructor must be knowledgeable of body mechanics and safety precautions for older adults; able to adapt routines to various levels of fitness; and offer a high degree of customer service.
Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to work Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. or Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- ACSM, NASM or equivalent fitness certification required.
- Education: AA, BS, or graduate courses in Kinesiology or related subjects preferred.
- Experience working with older adults preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Drug test, TB test, and Department of Justice (fingerprinting) required as a condition of employment.
