Applications are being accepted within the Parks and Recreation (P&R) department for participation in their unpaid internship program. This internship offers students pursuing a degree in P&R, Leisure Services, Environmental Education or strongly related field the opportunity to mentor with professionals and gain practical work experience. Hours are flexible during standard business hours from January through May working approximately 30 hours weekly with some Saturday event work as well. The Intern will participate in the activities and responsibilities of the Recreation Division that includes work in areas of recreation programming, marketing and material design, event/festival preparation and delivery, aquatic operations, and community nature/environment education.

QUALIFICATIONS: This is an unpaid internship granted through a competitive application process. First consideration will be given to students pursuing a related degree and seeking course credit for internship experience. Must have valid drivers license and a good driving record, strong communication and organizational skills. Administrative work experience in a customer service environment helpful. The selected candidate will be required to pass a background investigation and post-offer drug screening, and adhere to all City personnel policies and codes of conduct.
