Professional Community Management of CA, Inc. (PCM) is seeking a Full Time Recreation Services Supervisor to join our growing team . To plan, organize, implement, and direct a comprehensive Recreation program within the guidelines of the Board of Directors, the Casta Del Sol Social Committee and PCM management philosophy. Reports to the General Manager with significant contact with the Board of Directors, committees, residents, guests, contractors, outside groups and associations, employees and the general public. Responsible for all staffing, programs, and budgeting for the Recreation department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Exercises administrative control and coordination of all Recreation Center operations, including facilities and equipment maintenance, staff supervision, and recreation activities in accordance with accepted standards. Performs needs assessments and evaluations to determine and recommend long range planning for revisions, corrections, replacement, or additions to existing programs. Directs and oversees staff in the development and implementation of special events and facilities scheduling. Coordinates maintenance of the Recreation Center facility with the Maintenance Services Supervisor. Negotiates, prepares, and maintains contracts and information. Develops and monitors department budgets and reviews expenditures. A recruit, hires, trains, motivates, and supervises department staff. Enforces all CC&Rs, policies, and rules relating to Recreation Center operations. Acts as liaison between the Board and committees. Monitors compliance of priorities in accordance with the Board’s policies. Attends regular Management meetings and interfaces with all committees that are involved with Recreation Center or recreation activities. Meets with clubs, groups, and homeowners. Disseminates information regarding policies set by the Board of Directors and resolves concerns, conflicts, and complaints. Writes articles for the Community Association newsletter when requested and assists in its publication. Confers with the General Manager concerning objectives, new or revised policies, operating and matters affecting policies, and membership. Research reports and prepares staff reviews as required. Create new and exciting events for the enjoyment of the residents. Develop a comprehensive recreation program. Pick up supplies as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the General Manger. The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work of different assignment positions. NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with other jobs and other duties as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or equivalent education and/or experience of formal training in the design and implementation of large-scale recreation programs. Five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience with exempt, non-exempt, subordinate administrative, service and technical personnel, preferably with three years in the recreation field. Five years of experience in developing, coordinating and implementing recreational programs and services, with at least two of those years working within the senior adult community. Knowledge of proper English, spelling and vocabulary usage; the organization and functions of the corporation; and, modern office equipment, practices, systems and procedures. Knowledge of Homeowner Association CC&R’s, bylaws and contracts and the ability to read, understand and implement said guidelines. Ability to research problems, prepare written recommendations and compose correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with others in English and to understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to gather, analyze, evaluate facts, to prepare/present concise oral and written reports. Ability to supervise the work of subordinates and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, associates, subordinates, officials and employees of other divisions and agencies. Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to ensure thorough follow-up and meet deadlines. Ab lity to type 40 wpm, and prepare reports using word processing software. Ability to work with confidential materials. Will be required to attend functions and work a flexible schedule that will include days, evening, weekends, and holidays. Possession of a valid California Driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance and annual DMV printout. We offer an excellent working environment, competitive compensation and great benefits.
