Garmin AT's HR team is seeking a full time Recruiter for our team at our office in Salem, OR. As a Recruiter, you'll develop new recruitment strategies for attracting and retaining candidates within various departments including Engineering, Operations, and Marketing, confer with managers to understand staffing needs, workforce planning strategies and search assignments, technical job duties, responsibilities and business requirements and leverage that knowledge in review of candidate resumes and application.
You’ll also develop, coordinate, and implement college recruitment strategies for attracting and retaining entry level engineering candidates, proactively recruit, screen and interview for engineering positions at designated college campuses including travelling as needed to attend job fairs, campus informational meetings, interview sessions, and other on campus events to increase Garmin’s presence and generate interest.
Other key responsibilities for this role include:
Partner with Senior HR Specialist in Olathe and HR Manager to coordinate print, internet, and other advertisement sources to generate interested candidates
Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates
Create and foster relationships with colleges, professors, career services, faculty and diverse professional organizations to attract, recruit and maintain top candidates
Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to positions
Provide complete, accurate and inspiring information to candidates about the company and positions
Conduct presentations about the company, its engineering job opportunities, culture, and benefits
Track candidates and ensure complete and thorugh documentation for candidates is recorded and stored appropriately in Garmin’s Applicant Tracking System
Leverage recruitment sources such as Careerbuilder, Monster, and/or LinkedIn to actively source qualified candidates for open positions
You will also assist with continuous improvement of Garmin’s internship programs, including planning and coordinating events, housing, presentations, and evaluations.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors Degree from a four year college or university and a minimum of 2 years recruitment experience with a proven track record of hiring quality candidates for a diverse set of roles.
Self motivation and the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision, prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment, and demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are other key requirements.

Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Previous experience and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Must demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
Must demonstrate technical aptitude to learn and effectively use applicant tracking software
Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality and a demonstrated ability to follow up on action items in a timely manner
Must be flexible to attend recruitment events which may be held outside of regular business hours
Qualified candidates will also possess excellent presentation skills and public speaking experience and posses the ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
Candidates with previous college relations recruitment and/or engineering recruitment experience are preferred.
Previous experience and proficiency using Taleo or a similar Applicant Tracking System is also a plus!
