OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision, responsible for day-to-day administration of policies and programs covering some or all of the following for a corporate location with 2000+ employees nationwide: may interview and phone screen prospective employees for non exempt and some exempt positions. Sorts and reviews resumes, refers candidates to particular jobs. Maintain calendars, schedules, and applicant tracking system. Conducts reference checks and handles communication with candidates. May be involved in some college, professional and technical recruiting. Determines best avenues in recruiting (e.g., advertising, direct contact, job boards, employment agencies). Reports to Vice President of Human Resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Confer with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties,, and skills. Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates including schools, alumni groups, other public organizations, external recruiters and employment agencies. Initiate contact with potential candidates for specific job openings. Review applications and screen applicants to ascertain for the organization and position. Assist Corporate Recruiter in creating and placing job advertising in various media including online recruiting sources, print, etc. Coordinate, and participate in career fairs. Train hiring managers in career fair attendance behavior. Arrange travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants. Perform reference checks on applicants. Maintain applicant tracking system. Travel may be required. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree and 2 to 4 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, previous experience with Applicant Tracking Systems a plus. Absolute confidentiality is required of this position. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience in hospitality or IT a plus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
