The Recruiter will be responsible for identifying top talent for Sallie Mae business groups as assigned. This position will be responsible for the identification, recruitment and on-boarding of employees throughout the organization utilizing direct sourcing techniques including personal networking, online search, and leveraging internal tools and resources. Additionally, the Recruiter will oversee and insure the success of RPO (recruitment process outsourcing) vendor activities within assigned business areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Talent Acquisition
a. Develop and implement effective and comprehensive sourcing strategies for assigned requisitions.
b. Identify passive, senior level talent through non-traditional methods including social networking, AIRS techniques (Boolean, flipping, peeling, x-raying), cold calling and external networking.
c. Deliver qualified and diverse candidate slates to fill identified positions.
d. Interview candidates using advanced behavioral techniques to determine most qualified.
e. Manage interview and selection process to ensure superior candidate experience while providing strategic advice and counsel to senior executives.
f. Manage background verification process.
g. Effectively assess candidate's probability of offer acceptance; identify other competing opportunities, conduct a complete review of the current compensation package to include incentives and negotiate final offer.
h. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
2. Subject Matter Expert
a. Provide recruitment advice and oversight to assigned business units whose primary recruitment resource is the RPO vendor.
b. Work with vendor and business unit leaders in developing strategies, identifying issues and opportunities, streamlining processes, bridging communication, and producing meaningful metrics for analysis and course correction.
c. Provide recommendations to advance efforts of RPO team and resolve difficult recruitment issues.
3. Reporting
a. Maintains detailed and accurate recruiting records to fulfill external reporting requirements and provide internal customers with meaningful statistics and analysis
b. Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required
c. Provides analysis of data and recommends appropriate course corrections.
4. Special Initiatives
a. Lead special initiatives such as Campus Recruitment or new business staffing projects
b. Develop strategies and manage process in representing company at related strategic events
Requirements
College Degree Required
PHR/SPHR
Project Management experience
AIRS or other recruitment certifications
Strong interpersonal skills, able to effectively contribute to business unit strategic planning
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to contribute in senior management meetings
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs and Recruitment Technologies
Knowledge of laws pertaining to employment
Ability to plan, prioritize and follow up on daily work
