Manage RPO Client's Canadian payroll and benefits process

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of data input for semi-monthly and specials payrolls

  • Ensure that data is in synch between ADP and SAP/HR

  • Review and balancing of ADP test/preview and final payroll registers

  • Request earnings or deduction codes as needed to comply with internal or governmental requirements

  • Prepare funding request for payrolls

  • Prepare and upload journal entries into SAP/Finance

  • Reconcile T4/T4A slips back to year-end payroll registers and ensure proper reporting

  • Provide information requested by Canada Financial Control for interim and year-end reporting

  • Answer HR Shared Services – Canada hotline; triage calls as needed

  • Respond to e-mails sent to HR Shared Services – Canada inbox

  • Enroll Canadian employees in their Standard Life H&W benefits

  • Prepare Standard Life invoices for payment

  • Work with RBC on RSP (registered and non-registered) transactions

  • Complete any internal and government reporting requirements

  • Maintain proper records

Position Requirements

Basic qualifications include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must have 1 – 2 years of administrative, human resources coordinator, and/or recruiting coordinator experience

  • Must have minimum 2-3 years experience with the processing of Canadian payrolls (including tax & labor regulation knowledge)

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Ability to research Canadian tax and labor issues utilizing multiple sources is essential

  • Proficient with Excel is essential

  • Basic understanding of accounting is preferred

  • Prior ADP/Canada expereince preferred

  • Prior SAP/HR experience preferred

  • Prior SAP/Finance experience preferred

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

  • Ability to meet inflexible deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast paced environment

  • Extremely well organized

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools particularly MS Outlook Calendar

  • Previous experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

  • Able to prioritize and possesses strong administrative skills

  • Strong customer focus and customer service skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Previous exposure to OFCCP guidelines
