Responsible for operating & coordinating Radford University's recycling program. Educate campus community on recycling & waste reduction initiatives, promote source reduction, keep track of amounts & types of university waste disposed & recycled. Exercise high level of professionalism & have daily interaction with campus stakeholders.
? Must have the ability to operate all recycling associated equipment such as large utility trucks and forklifts, and pass the forklift and van training classes.
? Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business manuals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations
? Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
? Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence
? Ability to prioritize and analyze data and meet multiple deadlines
? Ability to analyze and interpret findings, and to prepare clear and concise reports, and conduct effective presentations
? Ability to make financial decisions and work independently
? Advanced knowledge of recycling and source reduction practices, public relations, and state laws relating to recycling and solid waste management
? Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, email, and other related software including website creation and management skills
? Ability to train others and build a constructive team spirit where team members are committed to the goals and objectives of the University
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Waste Management, or a related field highly desired; experience in a Higher Education setting, Commercial Driver's License
