Job Title: Insurance Verification / Referral Coordinator

Department: Marketing

FLSA Status: Full Time

Shift: 8am - 5pm

Education Requirements: High School Diploma

Certification & Skills Requirements: Must have experience with various software programs, must be a self-starter and have the ability to prioritize workloads and work independently. Must have excellent verbal and written skills, must have keen organizational skills, knowledge of medical terminology/abbreviations.

Experience Requirements: Must have at least 2-3 years of experience with medical office background, bi-lingual preferred. Must have knowledge of Worker's Compensation, private insurance, Medicare/Medicaid and personal injury payer groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with outlying clinical personnel regarding referrals made to UGH.
  • Maintain current insurance knowledge.
  • Assist patients and doctors offices with scheduling appointments.
  • Assist patients where necessary with insurance information coverage and benefits.
  • Maintain patient physician tracking information
  • Support marketing staff on any assigned projects.
  • Complete all requested insurance forms for patient testing.
  • Obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies when required.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Interact with hospital Marketing staff.
  • Attend mandatory hospital meetings as requested.
