Job Title: Insurance Verification / Referral Coordinator
FLSA Status: Full Time
Shift: 8am - 5pm
Education Requirements: High School Diploma
Certification & Skills Requirements: Must have experience with various software programs, must be a self-starter and have the ability to prioritize workloads and work independently. Must have excellent verbal and written skills, must have keen organizational skills, knowledge of medical terminology/abbreviations.
Experience Requirements: Must have at least 2-3 years of experience with medical office background, bi-lingual preferred. Must have knowledge of Worker's Compensation, private insurance, Medicare/Medicaid and personal injury payer groups.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with outlying clinical personnel regarding referrals made to UGH.
Maintain current insurance knowledge.
Assist patients and doctors offices with scheduling appointments.
Assist patients where necessary with insurance information coverage and benefits.
Maintain patient physician tracking information
Support marketing staff on any assigned projects.
Complete all requested insurance forms for patient testing.
Obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies when required.
Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Interact with hospital Marketing staff.
Attend mandatory hospital meetings as requested.
