We seek an individual to build and maintain freezer, refrigeration and heating systems for environmental chambers. The qualified candidate should have field experience.
The candidate will need to work closely with mechanical design engineers, software engineers and customers.

Position Responsibilities:

• Coordinates with assigned supervisor and other departments for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently
• Diagnoses causes of problems or failures in heating/air conditioning systems, identifying equipment repair and replacement needs
• Inspects environmental systems and their components (e.g. heating units, fans/blowers, ventilation, etc.) to evaluate condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance
• Installs heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced or upgraded capabilities
• Repair heating and air conditioning systems and components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, refrigerant, etc.)
• Build, test and debug devices and systems
• Participate in design reviews
• Develop and manage timelines and budgets for product development
• Interface with customers for requirements, testing and training

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• 3-5 year apprenticeship training or technical school training
• Experience servicing Lab Freezers and incubators. (Harris and Sanyo)
• Solid understanding of refrigeration fundamentals
• Basic electrical skills & troubleshooting
• Experience serving environmental chambers
• Familiarity with commercial refrigeration and heating components, standards for design and construction, hazards and safety precautions, refrigerant handling and disposal
• Strong computer skills
• Strong problem solving skills, the ability to overcome unforeseen challenges quickly and effectively
• Effectiveness as a team member and individually
• Excellent communication skills
