We are currently speaking with select maintenance professionals for the role of Region Maintenance Manager. This position will be based in Overland Park, KS. The professional in this role will provide expert support to Location and Shop Managers on First Student standard maintenance operations. They will provide detailed inspection and oversight in order to support and further the locations progress toward set maintenance goals and objectives.

Specific responsibilities include:
Cascading and ensuring compliance to First Student safety processes
Develop annual action plan with Shop Managers, supporting and tracking the attainment of set objectives
Communicate, train and deploy First Student best-practices to location shop leadership
Early identification of operational issues, working with location and regional leadership regarding correction
Manage toward critical KPI’s including financial, operational and labor use measures
Region DOT liaison
Develop and test new best-practices
Evaluate major repairs expense and shop capital with location / region leadership.

Job Requirements

Required Expereince & Competencies
Maintenance leadership of multiple facilities with a diesel powered fleet of over 1,000 vehicles
Computer experience with working knowledge of vehicle maintenance software
High degree of business sense and the proven ability to manage to high standards of safety and fiscal responsibility
Ability to communicate effectively up and down the organizational chart
Proven ability to staff and lead a team to excellence
