Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Regional Business Manager (RBM). If you are looking for an opportunity to work with manufacturers’ sales representatives to promote SEL solutions and support our Southwest region, then this position is for you!
This position may be located in either Irvine, CA, or Pullman, WA.
Regional Business Manager
- Assist the Regional Sales & Service Manager (RSSM) in leading, supporting, and guiding Regional Team Leaders.
- Assist the RSSM in the development of short and long term Regional business plans.
- Participate in financial planning and reporting, including bookings and budget variance analysis, capital planning, and labor requirements for the region; assist with quarterly forecasts and sales objectives for the region.
- Support sales and marketing activities by maintaining regular contact with, and provide training to, sales representatives and/or distributors.
- Apply SEL values in serving customers and SEL representatives and/or distributors.
- Serve as point of contact for all regional commercial and customer service issues (e.g. blankets, credits, rebates, and one-time pricing).
- Collect, analyze, and report customer feedback on products and services through our customer complaint, IPS, and ECO processes.
- Participate in regional activities that include planning, promoting, and organizing customer visits, conferences, seminars, customer service support, and other marketing and sales activities.
- Prepare, execute, and deliver regional service and sales reports relevant to internal and external customers and sales representatives.
- Promote product/service sales and track progress towards sales goals.
- Measure and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business from an accredited college or university
- 5 years of progressive experience in a business environment
- Strong computer and telephone skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Project management experience
- Experience in a technical sales environment
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)
