Supervises and provides direction and support to Regional Clinical Managers and Regional Clinical Compliance Managers. Coordinates with medical management within the region in the development, implementation and enforcement of new and existing standards; Medical Quality Management Programs; and educational and training standards and documentation. Participates in the development and standardization of the division-wide clinical standards in cooperation with the VP of Clinical Operations and Regional Clinical Directors (RCD)Essential Duties and Responsibilities Interfaces with Regional Administration, Medical Directors, and division staff to insure effective provision of medical care provided, including standards, training, and quality management. Collaborates with Regional Clinical Directors, Regional Clinical Managers and Medical Directors on medical care issues and clinical standardization, where appropriate. Oversees training and education standards within the region to insure optimal patient care and clinical competency. Assists in evaluating critical thinking, procedure and equipment competencies of clinical staff as needed. Assists VP of Clinical Operations, Regional Clinical Directors and Regional Physician Advisors in development of new medical standards, and reviews and approves final versions. Monitors and insures compliance with CAMTS standards and all state and local regulations in conjunction with Regional Clinical Managers. Provides guidance and resource throughout CAMTS accreditation process for flight programs within region. Reviews all CBS (and ADM if requested) PIF applications prior to program submission to the Commission and conducts preparatory mock survey prior to CAMTS site surveys. Assists with medical base audits, makes recommendations and implements changes as needed. Oversees the implementation of all new medical activities to include air medical bases and expanded services. Develops, proposes and approves capital expenditure plans to support medical needs for the region and programs. Assists with development of annual goals for Air Methods CBS clinical operations. Participates in strategic planning for the region and establishes regional goals for clinical operations. Provides regional medical representation to customers, industry, and outside entities. Evaluates and makes recommendations for medical staff retention and recruitment and promotes medical staff development. Facilitates clinical workgroups to include Medical Directors, Regional Clinical Managers and Regional Clinical Compliance Evaluators. Completes annual performance appraisals of Regional Clinical Managers and Regional Clinical Compliance Manager. Conducts Regional Clinical Manager, Clinical Base Supervisor, Regional and Clinical Compliance Evaluators and Medical Director Interviews in collaboration with Regional Management. Works in conjunction with the Regional Clinical Manager and Human Resources on all medical performance improvement plans, disciplinary and counseling events. Serves as a resource for Regional Directors and Managers as necessary. Manages personal and professional growth and possesses knowledge of changes and advances in the air medical field. Able to react to change productively and complete other duties and tasks as assigned. QualificationsThe qualifications listed are representative of those required to successfully fulfill job responsibilities Required: Education: Bachelors Degree in Management or Health-Related field Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Experience: Minimum five years experience in critical care/emergency nursing Minimum three years previous Flight Nursing experience Minimum three years previous management experience Licenses & Certificates: Current RN licensure for state(s) of practice Specialty Certification (CFRN) Preferred: Education: Graduate degree in Management or Health-Related field Experience: Previous management experience in a flight program License & Certificates: Specialty certification (CFRN, CCRN, CEN) Relationships Reports To: Vice President of Clinical Operations.
