Requirements: 5+ years experience in a Human Resources function required, including direct experience in recruiting and employee relations with a majority of the work-related experience in a service related industry. Must be capable of managing and demonstrating leadership in areas of recruiting, employee relations, and application of policies and applicable laws (FMLA/ADA/EEO/OSHA compliance/Workers’ Compensation). Also must be capable of establishing methods for the support of a positive, team-oriented environment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: The qualified candidate will assist in overseeing hourly recruiting and employee relations for the Kemah and Galveston market, including performance management, termination, conflict resolution, and employee investigations. Act as a coach for managers and employees. Assist in coordinating with corporate in the design and roll-out of regional HR programs that support business direction and HR. Participate in special HR projects, including employee recognition/retention. Network with other best practice companies to identify and apply leading-edge strategies and resources. Assist in providing an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, in addition to overseeing the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. HR Certification a plus.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Professional personal presentation with cordial one-on-one presence. Comfortable in working with all levels of employees. Excellent communication skills are a must. Ability to develop partnerships with internal customers. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, hands-on environment. Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals; listens carefully and understands various points of view. Ability to perform as a team member. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Working Conditions: Must be able to travel in the Kemah and Galveston market. Overtime required.
