The Regional Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all Loss Prevention functions to achieve maximum effectiveness in inventory shortage and protection of company assets. This position is responsible for determining the effectiveness of Loss Prevention policies and procedures through compliance auditing and use of exception reporting. The Regional Loss Prevention Manager also is responsible for all controllable lines to include shrink, cash handling, bad checks and credit card chargebacks. The individual will conduct investigations and inquiries and provide loss prevention training to retail associates.


Develop and implement programs to aid in the reduction of inventory and controllable losses to meet goals of assigned locations, including the prevention, detection and resolution of malefactors, internal and external.

Provide constant review of informational resources to uncover losses through procedural auditing.

Coordinate special audits, tests and inspections as assigned by the Director of Loss Prevention.

Initiate appropriate strategy to bring internal investigations to successful conclusion.

Implement prosecution and/or restitution procedures to return maximum restitution to the company.

Ensure the effective utilization of physical security controls in assigned locations to prevent and reduce inventory shortage.

Partner and provide Loss Prevention support and guidance to Regional Manager’s, District Manager’s and stores in assigned regions.

Respond to emergency situations.

Conduct professional associate interviews.

Work professionally with outside agencies (police, court system, etc.).

Prepare & complete internal case reports, audits and Loss Prevention recaps in a timely manner.

Conduct loss prevention meetings to educate associates on how to identity and prevent shrink.

Ability to handle difficult situations professionally, calmly, discretely, and with diplomacy.

Make recommendations regarding employee discipline when policies are not followed.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

State certification required, where applicable

Experience and Skills

5 - 7 years experience in Loss Prevention; minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with multi-store locations, preferably with a large-scale retailer

Advanced level of administrative and technical knowledge in retail loss prevention

Ability to integrate loss prevention, inventory shrinkage reduction goals with corporate and stores organization

Advanced knowledge and technical expertise in internal and external shortage controls and security systems technology

Ability to understand computer-based reporting in the areas of inventory and POS (point of sale) interfaces

Thorough knowledge of legal ramifications and procedures

Ability to perform operational audits and provide detailed investigation summaries

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Proactive approach to problem solving

Strong organizational and presentation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Extensive travel is required

Ability to work nights and weekends appropriately to retail business needs
