A local economic development organization seeks a smart, self-motivated, and tech-savvy person to act as Regional Outreach Coordinator (ROC) for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's EDGE (Economic Development Growth Extension) Program.

The ROC will provide on-the-ground outreach and support to promote the value of energy efficiency, sustainable growth practices, clean energy technologies, and innovations using carefully constructed public-private partnerships.

This position will last for the duration of a two-year contract, expected to begin about February 1, 2013.

Responsibilities

• Promote NYSERDA energy conservation programs in Northern New York. Act as liason to these demographics by responding to calls and inquiries, and explaining NYSERDA materials and methods of participation.

• Develop creative new ways to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy to serve communities' energy efficiency and climate protection goals.

• Build customer relationships and maintain information on partnerships, meetings, referrals, and other activities through regular reporting and the use of a Customer Relationship Management system.

• Plan and conduct public outreach events.

Requirements

• Able to quickly familiarize oneself with NYSERDA programs (see below).

• Strong entreprenurial personality, self-management as well as networking and marketing skills to be utilized throughout various industry circles in NNY. As a result, a track record of achieving measurable results is a must.

• A Bachelor's degree in planning, architecture, engineering, environmental science, business, marketing, communications, or any related discipline is suggested, though not required.

• Strong technological background is needed. Proficiency with MS Suite is required to carry out daily activities, and computer skills are needed to generate completed Consolidated Funding Applications. CRM experience is a plus.

• Five years' professional experience, or three years with a Master's degree.

• Familiarity with the seven counties of NNY (Lewis, Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Hamilton), and willingness to make day trips throughout the region as needed.
