We are currently seeking a Regional
President to join our International Marine Underwriters (IMU) division in
our New York City, NY office. This role is responsible for ensuring the overall
operating results and profitability of the Atlantic Region by directing the
implementation and execution of all planning, marketing, underwriting, claim and
administrative activities. Our ocean marine segment primarily consists
of Hull, Cargo and Yacht. In this role, you will have exposure to all

1) Attains underwriting profit by directing the staff in the proper
pricing and risk selection of new business, re-pricing and re-evaluation of
existing business and placement of reinsurance.
2) Develops and implements comprehensive marketing strategies and travel plans
in order to promote new business and service current business and renewals.
3) Develops and maintains agency distribution system by new appointments and
analysis of producer results, market potential and product mix.
4) Implements controls for material resources and operational activities to
facilitate action plans and meet expense requirements. Creates and
administers regional expense budget as applicable.
5) Coordinates hiring, training and general development and motivation of staff
in accordance with OneBeacon guidelines and performance appraisal procedures.
6) As applicable, oversees and ensures expeditious claims settlement efforts by
the marine claims staff interfacing with IMU HQ claims.
7) Maximizes opportunities for profitable new business and retention by
business relationships, produce
knowledge and underwriting acumen.
8) Maximizes profitability of territory through superior agency management,
development and planning. Strengthens the distribution system through
agency prospecting, activates new appointments and revitalizes existing agencies
consistent with territorial strategy. Terminates agency contracts when

underwriting principles and practices. Must be able to manage, lead, and
motivate staff. Must have proven analytical, decision making,
problem-solving, planning, project management, communication, organization and
teamwork skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years
of experience; ocean marine management and operations experience required. CPCU
and AMIM certifications are a plus.
