Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers seeks a dynamic, hands-on leader to be our
Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
. This role covers all of Georgia and parts of South Carolina and Alabama.
The RSM, will be reporting to the Divisional VP, Sales, and working in close collaboration with the Regional Operations Manager.

he RSM is accountable for overseeing the activities of the region's Territory Managers (TMs), and the generation of Gross Auction Proceeds. In this challenging role, you'll:
Prepare annual playbooks, including marketing and sales strategies, and incorporating alignment with corporate strategic plans.
In conjunction with the Divisional VP, Sales, prepare strategies to develop the region's top customers, to generate new business, and to win back dormant customers.
Foster a culture of clear, direct communication within the region so that roles and responsibilities are understood, inter-region and interdepartmental cooperation is encouraged, employee engagement is maximized, and changes to policy are understood and adopted.
Manage the performance of direct reports, including performance management, coaching, succession planning, career development and compensation.
Manage the overall activities of the Territory Managers through regular meetings and ride-alongs. Together, set and reset priorities as needed.
Meet regularly with the ROM to review regional issues and manage customer service issues.
Price all deals, as well as participate in the preparation and presentation of all major deals in your region.
Build and maintain relationships with all key customers in your region.
Attend all major trade shows, conferences or networking events in your region.

The Key Requirements:
year degree in the field of Business Administration, Marketing or a related field or equivalent work experience.
At least 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years involved mentoring / managing or directing an outside sales force in a quota-driven environment.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
The flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, as well as extended overtime, particularly around auction dates.
The ability to be on the road 4 days a week with 2 to 3 overnight stays per week, plus travel internationally once or twice per year.
The ability to climb up onto and down off of large construction equipment regularly.
The ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
A consistent track-record of leading your sales team to overachieve in a fast-paced, big dollar environment.
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing business plans to support evolving business goals.
Strong leadership, management, coaching and change management skills.

A proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
