Utilizing knowledge base and experience, provides population specific quality nursing care to adult and geriatric psychiatric patients through the nursing process in accordance with hospital policy and procedure and standards of nursing practice. Evaluates, supervises, documents and provides guidance in performance of staff.
Registered nursing licensure or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Previous registered nurse experience preferred. Experience in medical, adult or geropsychiatric setting preferred.
Shift - Rotating (D/E/N)
Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders and physical, psychological and social needs of the psychiatric patient. Skills in delegating nursing activities, skills in supervising, evaluating and counseling nursing employees. Computer literate with knowledge of basic computer skills. Experience with electronic health record preferred.
Offers of employment are contingent upon passing the background check (Virginia State Police and FBI) and the drug screen test.
