The registered nurse is responsible for coordinating the nursing care of patients in order to provide quality patient care to patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric. The RN applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs. The RN utilizes the nursing process and follows policies and procedures. The RN provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The Obstetrical RN is able to function safely and accurately in the newborn nursery, post partum, and labor and delivery areas of the Obstetric Department.
Holds a current license in the state of Wyoming; permissible to work with a temporary license for a specified period of time.
Has the ability to plan, direct and/or implement and evaluate the nursing care delivered to a group of patients.
Has good clinical skills and judgment.
Has the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Will complete a skills checklist within 90 days of hire.
Has a current CPR card
Is certified in Neonatal Resuscitation
Ability to work in newborn nursery, post partum, and labor and delivery area.
Maintains and updates knowledge in Obstetrical nursing.
Is certified in Fetal Monitoring Principles and Practices within the first year of employment in the Obstetrical Department.
Able to work well and assist in all emergencies related to the Obstetrical department
