Works in the Small Animal (SA) Internal Medicine section of the Veterinary Medical Center under the direction of the coordinator and faculty and residents in the service; has primary responsibility of set-up and clean-up of all special procedures and related equipment; assists during procedures and performs general maintenance; cleans and disinfects all special procedures room equipment such as GI endoscopes, bronchoscopes, rhinoscopes, laproscopes and cytoscopes; maintains appropriate stock of supplies; maintains records of the procedures including reports and images; develops/maintains an SOP manual for all specialized procedures; has primary responsibility for developing student ward assignments, notifying students by e-mail about upcoming block rotation, tracking of student attendance and leave requests, and updating Carmen course site; shared responsibility with other SAIM technicians; conducts or assists the SA IMed team with student orientation and the distribution of syllabus packets.

Associate’s Degree in Animal Health Technology from an approved AVMA Technician Program; minimum of 1 year of previous and related work experience and Registered Veterinary Technician within the State of Ohio.
