The Registration Counselor is responsible and accountable for providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship. Providing friendly, rapid and accurate patient registration into the computer system upon arrival, as well as providing registration paperwork and plate to the patient care areas.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
Obtain accurate information from patient/family in a pleasant, efficient manner and input into the computer system.
Verify patient insurance information on all patient files containing insurance.
Provide regsitartion and conduct other job requirements to meet the patient/family needs.
Recommend financial assistance and aid in completing financial statements and applications as needed for programs such as Charity, Medicaid, and other appropriate financial opportunities.
Must be able to meet and maintain required performance standards.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to accurately type 45 words per minute.
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to relate well to all customers.
Medical terminology desired.
Previous office experience preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.
Ability to prioritize and organize to maximum quality, value and service.
Preferred working knowledge of managed care payors and Medicare regulations.
Preferred experience working in multiple systems : STAR, MedPay, SCI, TRACE, OF, DDE, Multiple payor websites, etc.
Must have American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR prior to hire and maintain.
