Plans, coordinates and supervises the overall functions and activities of patient Admissions/ Registration
Education: High School graduate or GED equivalent
Experience: Minimum two years of medical office experience; prior supervisory experience; Knowledgeable of current medical registration issues and regulations; Medical insurance coverage experience.
Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Ability to interact positively with others, including other hospital supervisors and managers; knowledge and skills necessary to manage daily operations; educate and train personnel in registration functions, working knowledge of business office operations, medical office management and computer system(s); Detail orientated, organized, self motivated.
Supervises the overall operations of Patient admission/registration.
Conducts job employment interviews and work performance appraisals.
Responsible for training of all BBAHC employees in the Meditech Registration Module (for Medical services) and Computer Aged Dentist (for dental services), scheduling and working with other departments as needed. Regular review and updating training manuals as needed.
Able to perform daily admission/registration duties as needed for staffing and patient volume.
Maintains knowledge of current insurance coverage requirements and coverage verification specifications.
Efficient, accurate and timely patient registration and chart flow coordination.
Assures sufficient staffing, appropriate work assignments and directs training and education of staff.
Working knowledge of HIPAA and confidentially issues as they effect patient registration.
Responsible for accurate record keeping of IHS Eligibility in registration documentation.
Must effectively implement essential changes to daily operations of registration functions as needed.
Assures that referrals are made to the financial counselor by registration staff for those patients with large self pay balances.
Maintains, review and updates admission/registration written procedures as needed, minimal annual review.
Maintains professional representation of self and staff at all times; generating courtesy., discretion and patient confidentiality.
