3M is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist for the Personal Safety Division

The Performance Safety Apparel Regulatory Affairs Specialist manages US standard development activities and approvals and coordinates OUS standard development activities and product approvals for compliant personal safety products.

Core Duties and Responsibilities for the Performance Safety Apparel businesses:

· facilitate and coordinate 3M standard development activities globally

· actively participate in US and ISO standard development

· maintain technical documentation to support approval applications

· coordinate product approvals globally

· develop and maintain proficiency on global product performance test methods

· provide product regulatory and standard interpretation and guidance on compliance as requested.

Location: The person hired for the position of Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be located in Maplewood, Minnesota and relocation benefits are currently {yes} authorized for this position. This position may include up to 25% travel.

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree Chemistry, Physics, biology, engineering or other technical degree

· Minimum of 3 years work experience in laboratory, quality, engineering, occupational health and safety, regulatory or technical service functions.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Master of Science EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering degree is preferred

· Minimum of three years of experience with standards writing, regulatory affairs, and/or government affairs/lobbying is preferred

· Minimum of 1 year experience in personal protective apparel or safety equipment is preferred

· Experience working in a committee/consensus environment

· Demonstrated ability to function at both detailed and big-picture levels

· Excellent written and oral communications skills

· Can operate assertively in a committee environment
