A postdoctoral position is available starting Summer 2014 to study proteins that control transcription elongation and chromatin structure in human cells and in processes related to disease. We are interested in understanding the mechanism that links transcription elongation with cotranscriptional events in primary and human embryonic stem cells. Current projects include studying a new elongation factor that cooperates with HIV-1 Tat, a new CDK regulator important for ovarian cancer, and the mechanism of Wnt signaling in human colon cancers and hESC differentiation.

Education: PhD required.

Experience: Previous experience with mammalian cell culture, protein biochemistry, chromatin analysis and ChIP experiments is required. A background in mammalian gene expression, chromatin structure, mRNA processing, and/or nuclear imaging would be particularly helpful.

Application Instructions: Please email Curriculum Vitae, a statement of research interests, and three letters of reference to: jones@salk.edu
