Job Summary:
The Regulatory Licensing Sr. Specialist supports Omnicare operations by assisting with the completion and timely submission of regulatory licensing applications and collaborates with the Regulatory Licensing Compliance Manager to support licensing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Board of Pharmacy, DEA, Medicare and Medicaid Licenses and Provider Numbers

  • Act as the primary contact in assigned division(s) for regulatory licensing matters.
  • Manages and reviews application process.
o Reviews application submitted by the field and validates information for correctness and completeness.
o Resolves variances.
o Communicates both orally and via written correspondence with contacts.
o Completes all corporate information.
o Obtains fee as necessary.
o Works closely with outside legal counsel to review disclosure questions and obtain approval for signature.
o Submits completed application to regulatory agency.
o Follow-up with regulatory agencies to provide additional information as requested and resolves issues.

  • Notifies assigned units of upcoming expiration dates and deadlines.
  • Acts as primary contact in assigned division(s) for Power of Attorney and CSOS forms.
Sr. Level Activities

  • Acts as subject matter expert on licensing process.
  • Researches regulatory agency licensing requirements.
  • Provides written report of findings.
  • Applies interpretation of regulations to current licensing processes.
  • Provides expanded support to Omnicare licensing initiatives/activities.
General

  • Adds/Maintains/Updates licensing information in Access database and Share Point Drive.
  • Provides support to acquisition team for pending transactions.
  • Assists with team projects and objectives.
  • Provides licensing education and communication to assigned divisions.
  • Routes questions not related to licensing to the appropriate department and staff.
Management Responsibilities: (if applicable)

  • This position does not have direct management responsibilities.
  • Influence management skills.
  • Ability to train and provide direction to Regulatory Licensing Compliance Specialists.
Minimum (Required) Qualifications: (must be met in order to perform the job at the required level)

  • Demonstrates ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/processes at one time.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines and provide appropriate follow through.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform with a high degree of independence.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Access, Excel, Word and Power Point)
  • Five years of healthcare industry or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: (if above and beyond the minimum required)

  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid programs and state regulatory boards
  • Ability to work in complex organizational environments with ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Healthcare or Business degree (AS/BS or equivalent)
  • Three years of healthcare licensing experience.

Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.
