Maintain therapy spaces in a tidy, orderly condition.

Clean and disinfect therapy equipment and treatment areas according to department cleaning schedule.

Daily retrieval of linen, stock linen shelves, and transport soiled linens to laundry.

Complete departmental laundry tasks as needed, including hydrocollator covers, cushion covers, splint covers, etc.

Complete temperature logs according to departmental policy.

Ensure cleanliness and proper food storage in department refrigerator.

Complete cleaning of hydrocollator, paraffin bath, refrigerator, and freezer, etc. according to departmental schedule.

Retrieve rehabilitation department equipment as needed throughout facility.

Maintain all therapy equipment storage areas in an organized manner.

Conduct and maintain equipment inventory logs as required by department.

Report any broken, faulty, or unsafe equipment to the DOR and assist in coordinating repair or replacement of same with maintenance department.

Assist with treatment and transport of patients under the supervision of the therapist and in accordance with practice and regulatory guidelines.

Conduct daily audit of ROX Daily Treatment Log and make any necessary changes or additions as logged on the individual Daily Treatment Records, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all logged treatment sessions.

Conduct daily audit of ROX Labor Log and make any necessary changes or additions to coincide with the facility payroll.

Complete patient case management tasks in ROX, or other ROX patient actions as directed by the DOR.

Obtain insurance verification from AR Dept for all new non-skilled referrals, both in-patient and outpatient.

Obtain insurance approval for Managed B clients, (Ex: Paramount Elite) evaluation and # of visits approved, and track visit usage.

Manage all outpatient files from initial set-up through discharge, monitoring for completeness of all necessary forms per facility policy.

Ensure timely delivery of all discharged medical records to the facility medical records department.

Provide requested therapy documentation to facility case manager for insurance coverage decisions as directed by the DOR.

Complete all mailing or faxing tasks necessary for POA signatures, physician signatures, etc.

Accurate and timely processing of completed therapy documentation forms, including copying, filing, and obtaining co-signatures.

Maintain supply of documentation forms including evaluation packets and other forms management tasks as directed.

Effective uses discretionary time to perform tasks beneficial to the rehabilitation department.

Exhibits professionalism through demeanor, appearance, and communication.

Appropriately manages physical resources of the department by demonstrating fiscal awareness and respectful and proper use of equipment.

Required Skills

The purpose of this position is to facilitate the optimal function of the rehabilitation department.

Demonstrates ability to multi-task.

Read, write and understand English. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must be organized, self-directed and highly motivated.

Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and positive attitude toward the elderly.

Computer proficient.

Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy of work.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly. Finger, hand dexterity, visual and aural acuity is necessary. Position requires sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, stretching, lifting, grasping and reaching.
