The OpportunityThe Relationship Banker II is a position that is well poised for career growth in sales and/or management. Relationship Banker II's will receive ongoing training, coaching, and development that can help them achieve their career goals in the retail branch.
Relationship Banker II's serve as a proactive team member in the M&T Branch system and are critical to building customer loyalty through the 'M&T Way'. Relationship Banker II's are 'M&T Way' certified. The 'M&T Way' is defined as: Creating a memorable customer experience that will make customers want to come back and do business with the bank! Relationship Banker II duties also include: fluently profiling customers to identify financial needs (across all product and service lines), managing a customer portfolio, may serve as a licensed Insurance agent, resolving service issues, adhering to the requirements of federal registration under the SAFE Act, and performing accurate and timely processing of teller transactions as needed. Relationship Banker II's may be responsible for overall branch operations in the Branch Manager's absence.
Customer ExperienceServe as the 'Branch Concierge' (based on branch facility design). Support the bank's guidelines for delivering and coaching the 'M&T Way' customer experience. Take ownership of account servicing and error resolution. Follow-up with issues and convert servicing situations in sales and referral opportunities.
Relationship BankingAchieve personal sales goals. Identify financial needs and present all appropriate options by working cooperatively with appropriate business partners. Proactively bundle products and services. Build new customer relationships.Support branch in achieving its customer retention, acquisition and growth goals.
Operational ExcellenceFollow consumer guidelines for accuracy and proper new account handling and exception processing. Accurately and efficiently process a variety of Retail and Commercial transactions. Verify endorsements, place holds and disburse cash. Issue receipts for transactions processed and balance daily work. Adhere to all procedures stated in the Teller Difference policy and follow up with current gain/loss ticket documentation. Ensure compliance with operational, security and control policies/procedures, preventing fraud and protecting customer assets.
Employee EngagementPositively demonstrate teamwork by proactively assisting other branch colleagues as well as actively participating and contributing during Branch Team meetings. Coach branch team on quality referral generation (based on Insurance designation).
Experience required for this position* Associate's degree or equivalent in work experience.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.* Proven ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service.* Minimum of two year in retail sales, call center, customer service, or telesales position.* Well organized individual with time management and prioritization skills.* Demonstrated financial services product knowledge.* Required to stand for long periods of time, and for prolonged use of your hands and fingers.* Required to interact with customers in an open face to face work environment.* Ability to handle light to heavy lifting (5lbs to 30 lbs).
Ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Must obtain Life/Health Insurance Agent licensing within 12 months of hire.
Licensed Life/Health Insurance Agent.
