  • Required Experience :
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting; Master’s degree preferred
    • Minimum of 7 to 10 years experience as a Commercial Loan Officer/Relationship Manager
    • Sound understanding of the middle market business, pertinent regulations affecting it and the lending and credit approval process
    • Strong credit, planning, negotiations, communications, sales, analytical and organizational skills
    Physical Requirements :
    • Must be able to effectively utilize various office equipment (phone, computer, fax machine, printer, copier, filing cabinet)
    • Must be able to use a computer with all its components for prolonged periods of time and for the majority of required tasks
    • Must be able to work in an office environment
    • Travel to various and alternate locations
    Responsible for adhering to and ensuring business unit complies with pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara’s Compliance Policy as well as external compliance requirements.

    Responsibilities :
    • Continuous professional interaction with all internal service providers and product specialists to drive service quality
    • Must maintain expected credit quality standards
    • Prior experience preparing credit approvals for new and existing relationships; serve as a credit resource
    • Shall be a high performer in understanding and exceeding individual and team objectives
    • Shall be actively involved in developing new credit and non-credit relationships for the Bank through external new business development
    • Shall be the primary driver of the Bank’s client retention strategies including maintaining/providing exemplary service quality
    • Shall effectively cross sell deeper into existing relationships and across lines of business
    • Shall work well within a team structure to monitor portfolio performance to include adherence to loan covenants, collection of accounts, timely receipt of financial information, annual reviews, appropriate risk rating
