The Release Engineer is responsible for creating and deploying the internal and production releases of our products including reviewing change sets against business requests, extracting source code from Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS), compiling all necessary code, creating all necessary scripts, packaging for deployment all appropriate project artifacts, performing the deployment and compiling any necessary documentation.

The Release Engineer is responsible for creating and deploying the internal and production releases of our products including reviewing change sets against business requests, extracting source code from Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS), compiling all necessary code, creating all necessary scripts, packaging for deployment all appropriate project artifacts, performing the deployment and compiling any necessary documentation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with a programming focus, or compensating professional experience
  • Three (3) years of release management experience, preferably using TFS
  • Two (2) years of experience creating and releasing builds in a Microsoft .NET web based environment
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Working knowledge of (1) Microsoft Environments, deploying ASP and ASP.NET, MVC web based IIS applications and SQL Server; (2) scripting technologies; PowerShell, C#, VBScript, JavaScript; (3) Microsoft TFS and Visual Studio; (4) transact SQL; (5) Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Development experience in a Microsoft ASP/ASP.NET web based environment preferred
  • Experience administering source code repositories and build processes and administering Windows SharePoint Services (WSS)
  • Knowledge of Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
  • Experience with agile and waterfall project methodologies preferred
  • IIS configuration options
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to move easily between multiple priorties at any given time
  • Ability to solve problems creatively in a team environment
