An entry level opening is available in Bose’s R&D organization for a person with an interest in making products better through the application of reliability engineering. The successful candidate has a logical an inquisitive mind, self-driving interest in solving a broad variety of technical problems, insatiable appetite for guided and independent learning and an interest in working with diverse engineering disciplines.
As a Reliability Engineer at Bose Corporation, you will learn on the job how to predictively assess and influence field reliability based on component selection, implementation choices and expected product usage by end customer. You will build models and apply physics of failure methods to optimize system reliability while supporting cost and schedule targets. You will improve products by deliberately making them fail under experimental conditions and conducting analyses to learn how they failed. You will analyze product life data and build statistical models to predict future behavior.
As a member of product development teams, you will work closely with technical experts in electrical and mechanical product design, component engineering, manufacturing etc.. and will be responsible for evaluating potential impact of engineering and process changes to product reliability.
Interested in hands-on experience? This position affords you the opportunity of designing and conducting tests on new product prototypes while working with colleagues to solve fixturing, diagnostics and automation challenges. You will troubleshoot and debug test setups and products. Skills Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, mechanical integration, and electro-mechanical devices.
Familiarity with statistical analysis
Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation (multimeter, oscilloscope, microscopes etc..)
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong team player.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience in the Automotive, Aerospace or Consumer Audio industries
- Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of reliability test design, including climatics, dynamics, material properties, and accelerated test methods.
- Experience in testing and debugging or failure analysis.
