Reliability Engineer plays a key role in assuring equipment reliability through the development and execution of effective maintenance strategies, equipment design upgrades, challenge of existing maintenance practices and assurance of proper operating envelopes.

Reliability Engineers balance work activity between proactive reliability improvement and reactive reliability response, and are active in Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Technical and Small Project work processes as process and equipment experts.


Facilitate development and on-going completion of equipment maintenance strategies for existing instrumentation and electrical control equipment


Facilitate formal Root Cause Analysis of selected equipment systems to develop and implement solutions to address and/or prevent unplanned failure


Assure accuracy of CMMS system including functional location hierarchy and equipment / bill of material.


Provide reliability expertise during FEL design, construction, startup and operation of new assets as either a small project manager or maintenance & reliability resource to expense and capital projects.


Provide subject matter expert support to maintenance organizations for precision repair and configuration of electrical and controls systems including PLC, variable frequency drives, various field instrumentation for level, temperature, pressure, proximity measurement and control

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree / Electrical Engineering

Minimum 3

years of reliability and maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment

Minimum 3 years of experience supporting PLC systems

Minimum 3 years of experience supporting variable frequency drives

Preferred Qualifications

Trained in RCFA, RCM and other formal reliability engineering tools

Previous experience with SAP, particularly PM module for plant maintenance

Electrical Safety Knowledge and experience regarding arc flash and NFPA 70E

Project Management PMP Certification

ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or Control Systems Engineer (CSE)
