To improve equipment and process performance through the application of reliability engineering principles, analysis of data and results. Identifying opportunities and their priority in improving asset performance.
The post holder will be expected to be a highly-experienced engineer with sound technical background and expertise who has significant experience with the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation. They should be familiar with analytical methods used within the discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs and be able to manage a discipline team or teams assigned in effective delivery of work required.
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop policies, tools, procedures and strategies for improving asset equipment reliability and availability.
Ensure maintenance performance is measured and directed towards continual improvement.
Managing initiatives that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
Develop and maintain Performance Indicators.
Perform reliability studies across a range of disciplines in order to develop systems and routines to lower production downtime and increase efficiency.
Generate reliability improvement plans.
Production of FMECAs.
Production of HAZOPs, HAZIDs and ENVIDs.
Production of written technical documents (Safety Cases, ALARP, schedules and drawings).
Preparation of reliability and maintainability predictions.
Root Cause Analysis and Spares Analysis.
Provide technical support and advice to asset engineering team.
Equipment Maintenance and Planning Guidance.
Interfacing with other disciplines regarding their deliverables within a project.
With the reliability focal points, assist in the management and integration of these activities with system engineering and design programs to ensure the timely delivery of material supporting the reliability case.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience within the Oil & Gas Sector.
Project Management & Commercial awareness.
Relevant engineering skills in a manufacturing / process environment.
Ability to respond well under pressure.
Be able to communicate at all levels.
Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative, be motivated and eager to learn and progress within the discipline.
Experience in the practical application of Reliability and Availability Analyses (Predictions, FMECA, Reliability Modelling techniques, HAZOP).
Attention to detail, problem solving.
Competent in use of standard Microsoft Office programs, as well as usual technical safety software packages.
Familiar with the process facilities on off-shore installations and on-shore terminals.
Knowledge of P&IDs and Cause and Effects Diagrams.
Degree or postgraduate qualification in Engineering or safety-related field.
HND/HNC, in engineering or equivalent technical subject together with significant levels of experience and job responsibilities in relevant engineering roles.
