Engineering role responsible for applying engineering and statistics knowledge to the business-critical effort to quantify, understand and improve product reliability. He/She will be required to develop a detailed understanding of the physical mechanisms that influence the long term performance of CIGS solar panels, develop accelerated stress tests and build predictive reliability models.

Design reliability and qualification test plans and manage the execution of those test plans.

Design experiments to evaluate PV panel and materials behavior through accelerated stress tests.

Develop models to correlate accelerated stress tests results with actual performance of the product in the field for a range of operating environments.

Work closely with product and process development groups to assure continuous improvement in product reliability.

Lead or engage with cross-functional teams to resolve reliability issues as they arise.

Lead or assist in failure-analysis of product returned from the field.

Develop methodology for proper calculation of reliability failure rate based on accelerated stress tests results, ongoing reliability monitors and field failure data.

Prepare reports that effectively and accurately communicate reliability findings to a technically diverse audience.

Define and implement reliability improvement projects to improve product quality.

Knowledge of reliability testing, analysis and reporting methods.

Proficiency with statistics and analytical methods and tools.

Experienced in data mining and analysis (SQL, JMP)

Self starter who, with minimal direction, takes ownership of projects and drives to completion.

Communicates openly and effectively across diverse groups.

Strong presentation & meeting management skills.

Able to balance strategic direction with hands-on, tactical work.

Organized work style that reduces firefighting.

Works well with other to achieve complex goals

Masters degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Physics or Material Science. PhD is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in reliability testing, analysis and reporting. Experience in solar (CIGS) or semiconductor devices is preferred.

Experience in failure analysis is a plus.
