Position is located at Crossroads Community Youth Home, a coeducational residential program for adolescents in Williamsburg. Relief positions fill in for regular counselors on vacation, sick leave, or in training. Crossroads is open 24-hours a day with three 8-hour shifts. Vacancies on all shifts: Midnight to 8:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to midnight. Also, weekends and holidays. Hourly rate of pay is based on the ability to meet the minimum training requirements in addition to the number of hours of regular direct care supervision performed. Experience in regular direct care supervision is defined as the ability to provide supervision on a 1:5 staff to resident basis.
High school graduate or equivalent and e xperience working with at-risk youth is preferred.
Must be willing to complete training in the following areas:
Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with good driving record mandatory.

- Medication Management
- Suicide Awareness
- Bloodborne Pathogens
Requires acceptable criminal and child protective services background checks.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule as shifts and hours may vary from week to week.
DMV records and background checks are conducted prior to employment.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including copiers, calculators, pagers, etc. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Requires ability to move objects such as tables and equipment around. At times, may need to restrain a resident. Usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
